One of the tools that I use in my role of Talent Lead at TOPdesk is the 'Talent Canvas' created by Marco Calzolari, which can be used for several purposes. Created as being a framework for "Adaptive Career Design", this tool is great for reflecting on your own path or the path of employees that you lead.

The tool itself is quite cleverly set up around some essential questions:

• What do you like? What do you dislike?
• What are you good at? What do you need to improve on?
• What is the value you bring? What do you need to increase that value?
• Which responsibilities fit you the best? And which don't?
• How would you phrase your role and your contribution?
• What agreements can we make? How will we see positive change?

I've seen the most value in this tool being a conversation starter. The canvas provides quite a nice format to use and I have used it a couple of times now.
